Nathan Lucas
Hi, I'm Nathan

The designer and the developer on your project. Same guy.

For 18 years I've worked every part of a website: the brand and the pitch, the code and the migration, the analytics after launch. Figma to PHP to Python, usually solo, always with a "yes, I'll figure it out."

Things I built that people still use

Most of this was done solo at MotionPoint, a website translation company, and its sister brands.

Chassis framework2024–26

One WordPress framework for four brand sites

After a string of acquisitions, I inherited four sites built four different ways: Elementor, rigid ACF blocks and hard-coded pages. I designed and built Chassis, a multisite framework with drag-and-drop blocks, per-site brand kits and a shared widget library, then wrote a Python tool that crawled, scraped and converted each site into it.

A sales library the whole team actually used

Logins, filterable assets, full-text search inside PDFs with the match highlighted, favorites, an engagement leaderboard and one-click LinkedIn sharing. New marketing content published itself into it automatically.

Ask a question, get the right asset

I vectorized every sales asset with Python and Supabase and built an interface on the Claude API. Reps could ask questions or drop in a whole Gong call transcript to get pain points and follow-up recommendations. A sibling tool drafts RFP answers from past responses.

ExpressionEngine to WordPress, solo

I reverse-engineered WordPress's import format and built a template that exported the old site cleanly into it. Along the way I set up local, dev, staging and production environments and introduced Git to the company.

Language detection, plus the guide that explained it

I was the main builder of the language pop-ups clients put on their sites, then replaced the Word-doc install guides with a generator that writes client-specific embed code.

What I do

For your team or your project

Available for contract work and the right full-time role.

WordPress development

Custom themes, multisite, custom post types, ACF and block systems people can edit without breaking.

Migrations & performance

Moving off Elementor, page builders or old CMSs without losing rankings, and getting Lighthouse into the 90s.

Marketing technology

GA4, Tag Manager, HubSpot, Pardot, Salesforce, gated content and the forms that feed them.

AI tooling

Retrieval-augmented assistants on the Claude API that answer from your own documents.

Design & branding

Logos, brand kits, web design in Figma, and illustration. I redesigned MotionPoint's logo, still in use.

About

A comic-book kid who learned to code

I grew up drawing dinosaurs and comics, and wanted to be a comic artist. That turned into a degree in media arts and animation, which turned out to be a crash course in every part of production: design, video, 3D, and the scripting nobody else in class wanted to touch.

I talked my way into my first web job before I knew HTML, learned it in a week, and became the fastest on the team. Then I spent 18 years at one company, surviving every reorg by saying yes to whatever needed doing and figuring it out.

Today I'm taking on contract work and building Incantive, a platform that gives small businesses agency-level marketing and websites. Off the clock I photograph families, chase waterfalls, and am slowly teaching myself drums.
